Description
On the east coast of Rhodes, a few kilometres south of Archangelos, Tsampika spreads out as a broad arc of fine golden sand beneath the hill topped by the Tsambika Monastery. The water shelves gently, with moderate wave action that keeps it lively but safe for children. A well-tarmacked road leads from the main coastal highway to a large, free parking area, and the beach itself is fully organised with rows of sunbeds and umbrellas, showers, toilets, and lifeguard cover through the summer. Several beach bars and a taverna serve food and drinks, and watersports hire is available for windsurfing and jet skis. It is a family favourite, and it can get very busy in July and August, so arrive early for a prime spot. The setting is open, with some shade from the dunes behind the sand, and the water stays clear enough for easy snorkelling around the edges of the bay.
