    Description

Mavros Kavos is a pebble beach on the southeastern coast of Rhodes, roughly midway between Lindos and Gennadi. It occupies a small cove backed by low cliffs, with dark grey pebbles and coarse sand at the water's edge. The sea deepens quickly, and the water stays clear even when breezy, with moderate waves that attract bodyboarders on a swell. A narrow asphalt road leads from the main coast highway; parking is limited to the roadside verge, so an early arrival helps in peak season. There are no sunbeds, umbrellas, or tavernas — visitors bring everything they need, including shade and water. The beach remains quiet compared to the busy organised sands further north, appealing to those who prefer a simple, uncrowded swim with views across to the distant Turkish coast. A dirt track at the northern end leads to a small chapel on the headland, offering a short walk and a wider panorama.
