Description
Faliraki Beach runs for nearly a kilometre along the east coast of Rhodes, just south of the resort town that shares its name. The beach is broad and sandy, with shallow, gentle water that shelves slowly — good for families with children. Waves are generally moderate, enough for a pleasant swim or some bodyboarding. Development is substantial: the entire length is lined with sunbeds and umbrellas for hire, backed by beach bars, tavernas and a promenade. Facilities include showers, toilets and lifeguard cover through the summer. Water sports operators offer jet skis, parasailing and pedalos. Parking is easy in the large lot at the northern end, though the beach can get very crowded in July and August. It holds a Blue Flag award for cleanliness and safety.
