Description
Katafygio beach lies on the east coast of Rhodes, a short drive south of the resort town of Faliraki. The beach is a narrow strip of soft sand, sheltered by low rocky headlands on either side. The water here is clear and typically moderate in wave action, making it pleasant for swimming. There is no organized development: no sunbeds, umbrellas, or tavernas, so you need to bring your own supplies. Access is via a paved road that ends near the shore, with limited roadside parking. The beach remains relatively quiet compared to the busier nearby resorts, and suits those looking for a simple, undeveloped spot for a few hours of sun and sea. Snorkelling along the rocks can be rewarding. Given its unserviced nature, it's best visited early or later in the day to avoid the heat.
