Description
On the east coast of Rhodes, just south of the village of Archangelos, Stegna Beach stretches as a long sweep of smooth pebbles and shingle. The water here is clear and usually calm thanks to the bay's shelter, though moderate waves can roll in on breezier days. The beach is backed by a handful of traditional tavernas and a few rooms, giving it a low-key, local feel. Access is easy: a sealed road leads from Archangelos down to the shoreline, and you can park along the roadside close to the water. There are no formal sunbed or umbrella rentals, so bring your own shade and a good beach mat. Families appreciate the gentle slope and the shallow entry, while the tavernas serve simple Greek food and cold drinks just steps from the pebbles. It rarely feels overcrowded, even in high summer, and the atmosphere remains relaxed throughout the day. If you need a proper sunbed, you might prefer the more developed beaches farther north, but for an unpretentious, pebbly swim spot with decent facilities nearby, Stegna is a solid choice.
