Description
Galouni Beach lies on Rhodes’ east coast, a few kilometres south of Kiotari village and roughly halfway between Lindos and Prasonisi. The shoreline is a straightforward stretch of golden sand, sloping gently into moderately calm Aegean waters that suit swimmers and families. Low scrub and a few scattered tamarisk trees back the beach, offering limited natural shade. A paved road leads from the main coastal highway to a rough roadside verge where you can park. The beach is serviced in season: rows of sunbeds and umbrellas line the sand, and a basic beach bar operates for refreshments. Toilets and showers are not guaranteed, so come prepared. Although never a Blue Flag holder, the water is clean and the setting pleasant. It can get reasonably busy in July and August but rarely feels overcrowded. For a no-fuss, sandy day on the water with easy access and basic comforts, Galouni is a solid choice.
