Description
Plimmiri sits on the southeast coast of Rhodes, a stretch of shore that feels far from the island's busier resorts. The beach is a long, open sweep of sand and pebbles, backed by low dunes and tamarisk trees that offer sporadic shade. Wave exposure is moderate — the sea here is often stirred by the prevailing wind, making it more suited to confident swimmers or windsurfers than toddlers. Access is via a dirt track off the asphalt road to Plimmiri village; parking is roadside, little more than a dusty verge. There are no sunbeds, umbrellas or tavernas — just the raw coast. A few locals and self-sufficient travellers camp under the tamarisks, but weekdays are quiet. Bring everything: water, food, shade and a sturdy towelling mat. The beach is best for those seeking solitude, a bracing dip and the sight of the distant Rhodian hills. No services, no frills — just the Aegean and the breeze.
