Description
Vlycha Beach lies on the east coast of Rhodes, a short drive south of Afantou village. This sandy beach stretches for several hundred metres, backed by low, scrub-covered dunes and a smattering of tamarisk trees that offer limited natural shade. The water shelves gently, with moderate wave action that can pick up in the afternoon breeze, making it pleasant for swimming but not ideal for very small children. Access is via a paved road from Afantou, with roadside parking along the beachfront. The beach is organised: you’ll find rows of sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, plus a couple of beach bars and tavernas serving drinks and food. Showers and toilets are available. In summer it gets busy, especially at weekends, but the wide expanse means you can usually find a spot. Water sports like jet skis and pedaloes operate from one end. Best for families and couples wanting a convenient, serviced beach with easy access.
