    Description

Vathi is a long, sandy beach on the east coast of Thassos, a few kilometres south of Potamia. Set in a wide bay backed by green hills, the water here is calm and shallow, ideal for families with young children. The beach is partly shaded by tamarisk trees along the back, and its length means it rarely feels overcrowded even in peak season. Access is via a paved road from Potamia, with ample roadside parking. Several tavernas and a beach bar line the shore, and sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent. The seabed is gently sloping sand, good for wading and swimming. While not Blue Flag, it is well-maintained and popular with both locals and visitors.
