Description
Skidia sits on Thassos' east coast, a pebbly cove accessed by a short dirt track from the main coastal road. The shore is a mix of smooth pebbles and small stones, shelving gently into clear, moderately wavy water — suitable for a cooling dip but with some current. The beach is narrow and backed by low scrub and olive trees, offering a little natural shade in the afternoon. Parking is roadside on the gravel verge above, with space for a handful of cars. No facilities exist; umbrellas and supplies must be brought. This is a quiet spot for those seeking to escape the more developed beaches; expect few others, even in summer. Snorkelling is possible over rocky patches at the edges. The road from Thasos town is about 10 km south, well-signposted towards the coast. Best for independent travellers with their own transport who value peace over convenience.
