Description
Limenaria Beach is the main stretch of sand fronting the lively resort town of the same name on Thassos' southwest coast. It forms a broad, gently shelving bay with soft golden sand and moderate waves, making it a safe choice for families and swimmers of all abilities. The beach is fully organised: rows of sunbeds and umbrellas line the shore, while a coastal promenade behind it hosts tavernas, bars, and shops. Parking is roadside along the seafront, though it can be tight in peak season. Showers and public toilets are available. The atmosphere is sociable and busy through July and August, with plenty of opportunities for a long lunch or a drink overlooking the water. Early mornings and evenings are quieter, good for a stroll or a swim before the crowds arrive. The seabed shelves gently, and the water is clear enough for snorkelling around the rocks at the edges. For those wanting a more secluded spot, smaller coves lie just around the headlands to either side.
