    Description

Ilio Mare is a sandy beach on the east coast of Thassos, roughly halfway between the villages of Skala Potamia and Golden Beach. The beach is set in a small bay with moderate wave action, making it pleasant for swimming. The shoreline is backed by low scrub and a few scattered trees, with modest roadside parking along the adjacent road. It is not an organised beach—there are no sunbeds, umbrellas, or permanent facilities, so you need to bring your own supplies, including water and shade. The beach tends to be quiet even in summer, attracting a mix of locals and visitors seeking a simple, undeveloped spot. Access is easy via a paved road, and the shallow, sandy seabed makes it suitable for families with small children. Snorkelling is possible around the rocky edges of the bay. Given the lack of amenities, it is best for a low-key day by the sea.
