Description
Potos Beach runs along the southern coast of Thassos, centred on the lively resort village of the same name. The shoreline is broad and sandy, with gently shelving water that stays shallow for some distance, making it a safe choice for families with young children. The beach is moderately exposed to the sea, so there is usually a low to moderate swell, but it rarely becomes rough. The entire length is well organised: rows of sunbeds and umbrellas line the sand, and a handful of tavernas and beach bars are set just behind. Water sports operators offer pedalos, jet skis and paddleboards. Parking is roadside along the coastal road, which can be tight in July and August. The setting is mostly flat, backed by low-rise hotels and holiday apartments rather than natural dunes or cliffs. Despite the development, the water remains clean and pleasant for swimming. It is not a secluded or wild spot, but for a convenient, family-oriented beach with good facilities, Potos delivers reliably.
