Description
Tarsanas is a quiet cove on the west coast of Thassos, tucked between the villages of Potos and Limenaria. Low cliffs frame a narrow shore of mixed pebbles and sand, with water that can range from flat to moderately choppy depending on the wind. A short walk from roadside parking brings you down to the beach, which remains largely undeveloped — no sunbeds, umbrellas, or facilities await. This makes it a favourite with those who prefer a simple, natural swim spot. The clear water is good for snorkelling around the rocky edges, and the lack of crowds means you can often find a peaceful spot even in summer. Because there is no on-site taverna, pack your own food and water. The beach is family-friendly on calm days, though the stones can be sharp for tender feet. A good choice for a low-key afternoon away from the more commercial strips.
