Description
Arsanas is a small pebble beach on the east coast of Thassos, set between low rocky headlands and backed by sparse pine woodland. The water is clear and refreshing with moderate wave action, suitable for swimming but not ideal for very young children. Shade is limited, so come prepared with an umbrella. Access is via a short dirt track leading off the main coastal road; parking is roadside and limited to a few cars. There are no facilities or services — no sunbeds, taverna, or lifeguard — making it a completely natural, unspoiled spot. The beach is quiet and never crowded, attracting mainly locals and those seeking a peaceful swim away from the more developed resorts. Its pebbly shore slopes gently into the sea, and snorkelling can be rewarding along the rocks at either end. The nearest village, Panagia, is a short drive inland, but there are no shops or cafes within walking distance. Bring all your own supplies, including water, and take your litter away.
