Description
Livadi sits on Thassos' east coast, a pebbly crescent tucked below low, scrub-covered cliffs. The shoreline is narrow, composed of smooth grey and white pebbles that shelve gently into clear water. Wave exposure is moderate, so a gentle swell often laps the shore, but strong currents are rare. Behind the beach, a thin strip of trees gives way to the coastal road. There is no formal organisation: no sunbeds, umbrellas or taverna. Visitors park where they can along the roadside verge, then walk down a short, uneven path. The beach rarely gets busy, even in high summer, making it a calm spot for a quiet swim or a picnic. The lack of shade means bringing an umbrella is wise, and there are no facilities, so take water and snacks with you. The seabed is pebbly underfoot, so water shoes help. It suits those after a raw, unserviced beach away from the crowds—perfect for a few hours of reading and easy snorkelling around the small rocks at the edges.
