Description
On Thassos’s east coast, just south of Potamia village, Pefkari is a pebbly beach backed by pine-clad slopes. The shingle gives way to clear, moderately lively water – waves here are steady enough for a bob but rarely rough. A short, paved lane leads down from the main coastal road; you park along the verge or in a small pull-off. Unlike Golden Beach a few minutes north, Pefkari stays quieter, even in August. Sunbeds and umbrellas cluster near the centre, where a beach bar and a taverna serve grilled fish and cold drinks. The lack of official organisation means no lifeguard or toilets, so families should keep an eye on children in the deeper patches. Snorkellers will find interest among the rocks at either end. It’s a straightforward, unfussy spot – bring your own shade if you want to avoid the hire fees, and arrive early on weekends for a roadside space.
