Description
Long, north-facing bay in the resort of Sidari on Corfu’s northwest coast. The main beach is mostly fine sand with occasional shingle and shelves very gently into shallow water. Water is generally clear, though the sandstone gives a light yellow tint and near-shore clarity can drop when winds stir the fine sand. The bay is usually calm; conditions become choppier with strong northerlies and in the more exposed Canal d’Amour coves. Access is straightforward from the seafront with pedestrian paths and large public parking areas behind the strip. The beach is fully organized with sunbeds/umbrellas, showers, toilets, beach bars and tavernas; seasonal lifeguard posts operate, and a wide range of water sports, boat rentals and short trips run from the shore. The very shallow gradient makes it suitable for families. Notable cautions: the adjoining Canal d’Amour has eroding sandstone ledges, narrow channels and unprotected cliff edges—do not dive or jump, and avoid the channels in rough seas where accidents have been reported.
