Description
Porto Timoni is a hidden double-cove gem on Corfu’s northwest coast beneath the village of Afionas. Two adjacent coves, separated by a narrow spit, open into lush headlands and reveal strikingly clear water. The shores are mainly pebbles and shingle, with patches of sand or mixed substrate in the gentler parts. The seabed slopes moderately, with snorkeling opportunities near the rocky margins. The beach is fully unorganized—no infrastructure, no amenities—and access is by a steep, roughly 20–30 minute hike down well-marked but rugged paths from Afionas (or by boat from Agios Georgios). Parking exists in Afionas near the trailhead (paid or roadside). Because of its remoteness and lack of services, waves remain calm in most conditions but wind or swell may stir surface ripples; swimmers must be cautious of uneven seabed and absence of lifeguards. Arrive early to avoid crowding, carry all your supplies, and respect the natural setting.
