Description
Messonghi Beach sits on Corfu’s southeast coast beside the Messonghi River and the resort village. The shoreline is a mix of sand and shingle/pebble, with a generally gentle, shallow entry. Water is typically clear and the east-facing bay is fairly sheltered, so conditions are usually calm with small chop on breezier days. Access is easy via the coastal road and local buses; the beach runs in front of hotels and tavernas. Parts of the shore are organized with sunbeds and umbrellas, plus seasonal water-sports and boat trip operators. Cautions: expect pebbles at the waterline (water shoes recommended) and occasional sea urchins on rocky patches; stay within marked swimming zones due to boat traffic near the hotel piers and the river mouth.
