Description
Bataria is a small, picturesque cove tucked beneath the hills north of Kassiopi. Its shoreline is composed of smooth white pebbles rather than sand, and the seabed descends fairly steeply—water depth increases quickly near the edge, making it more suitable for confident swimmers and snorkelers. The water is crystal-clear and often calm in good weather, though wind or swell can stir light chop. Access is by road and a brief walk down from the headland; part of the parking is very limited and fills early. The beach is modestly organized: a few sunbeds and umbrellas are available, plus changing areas and toilets nearby via local restaurants, and there are one or two restaurants or tavernas above the cove. Because of limited depth and steep drop-offs, care is needed for weaker swimmers, and there is minimal lifeguard presence. Submerged rocks exist near the margins.
