Description
Paradise Beach stretches along the south coast of Kos, a few kilometres west of Kefalos. It's a broad, sandy beach with gradually deepening water and moderate waves, making it popular with families and swimmers. The beach is well-organised: rows of sunbeds and umbrellas line much of the shore, backed by a beach bar and a taverna serving food and drinks. Water sports – jet skis, parasailing, and banana boats – operate from the eastern end. You reach it via a paved road from Kefalos, with a large free car park just behind the dunes. As one of the island's most developed beaches, it gets busy from late morning, especially in July and August. The shallow water and soft sand suit children, while the length of the beach means there's usually room to spread out. Bring reef shoes if you plan to snorkel around the rocky headlands at either end. The few tamarisk trees offer limited natural shade, so most visitors rent an umbrella.
