Description
Limnionas is a small cove on the southwestern coast of Kos, a few kilometres south of Kefalos village. The beach sits at the head of a narrow bay, sheltered by low cliffs and scrub-covered hills. A mix of coarse sand and pebbles slopes gently into clear, calm water that is popular for snorkelling around the rocky edges. The beach is narrow, but stretches far enough to accommodate visitors without feeling crowded except in August. Access is via a paved road that ends at the shore; cars park roadside along the last few hundred metres. A taverna operates behind the beach, serving meals and drinks, and rents out sunbeds and umbrellas during summer. There are no formal changing rooms or showers, so bring your own supplies. The moderate wave exposure means the water is generally placid, though an occasional breeze can stir up small ripples. Limnionas suits couples and families looking for a relaxed spot with basic comforts, and its position catches the afternoon sun nicely for a leisurely swim followed by a meal overlooking the bay.
