Description
Helona Beach sits on the southeastern coast of Kos, roughly midway between Kardamena and Kefalos. It is a broad, sandy stretch with calm, shallow water—well suited for families with small children. The beach is backed by low scrub and a few tamarisk trees, providing limited natural shade. Access is via a short, unpaved track from the main coastal road, and you can park along the verge. There are no facilities: no sunbeds, umbrellas, or tavernas, so come equipped with water, snacks, and an umbrella. Because it remains undeveloped, it stays quiet even in high season, attracting those who prefer a simple day by the sea. The gentle slope and lack of strong currents make swimming safe and easy. It is also a decent spot for snorkelling along the rocky edges. Overall, Helona offers a peaceful, no-frills beach experience away from the more crowded resorts.
