Description
Flamingo Beach lies on the southern coast of Kos, roughly midway between the resorts of Kardamena and Kefalos. The shoreline is sandy, with moderate wave exposure, and the beach is backed by low dunes and scrub, giving it a natural, unspoiled feel. It is not organised—there are no sunbeds, umbrellas or facilities, so come prepared with water, snacks and shade. Access is via a paved road that ends at a small roadside parking area; the last stretch may be a dirt track. The beach tends to be quiet, even in summer, attracting those looking for a simple, low-key swim away from the busier organised beaches. The water is clear and gently shelving, making it suitable for wading and snorkelling along the rocky edges. There are no tavernas or shops nearby, so bring everything you need. The setting is open and exposed to the prevailing winds, which can pick up in the afternoon, but on calm days it offers a peaceful escape.
