Description
Maratha Beach sits on Skiathos’s southeastern coast, about 3 km from Skiathos Town, tucked between pine-covered hills and the sea. The beach is a sweep of soft sand, with clear water that can be moderate in wave height when the wind picks up. There is no shade except what you bring, and no facilities whatsoever—no sunbeds, no taverna, no lifeguard. Access is via a rough dirt track that turns off the main road; parking is roadside and limited. It is unorganised and quiet, drawing those who want a simple, natural beach day away from the crowds. Snorkelling can be good around the rocky ends. Bring everything you need: water, food, umbrella, and sturdy footwear for the walk down. The setting is serene, with views over the Aegean and the green hills behind. It’s best for independent travellers who value peace over convenience.
