Description
On the southern coast of Skiathos, tucked between pine-clad hills and the sea, lies a modest sandy cove that goes by Katharina. The water here is calm and clear, thanks to the sheltered orientation, making it a pleasant spot for a peaceful swim. The beach itself is relatively narrow, backed by low vegetation and a few scattered rocks. Reaching it requires a short drive along a winding road from Skiathos town, then a brief track; parking is limited to the roadside, so arriving early is wise. This is an undeveloped stretch – no sunbeds, umbrellas, or tavernas – so you’ll need to bring your own supplies, including water and shade. The absence of facilities keeps the crowds thin, even in high season. It suits those who prefer a quiet day by the water without the buzz of organised beaches. Snorkelling is rewarding along the rocky edges. All in all, Katharina offers a low-key escape for visitors willing to trade convenience for solitude.
