Description
Kolios Beach sits on the south coast of Skiathos, about 6 km from Skiathos Town, in a sheltered bay backed by pine-covered slopes. The sand is soft and golden, the water a clear, shallow gradient that shelves gently – good for swimming and snorkelling. Tamarisk trees provide natural shade along the back of the beach, though sunbeds and umbrellas are also available. Reaching it is straightforward: a paved road leads down from the main coastal road, and there is roadside parking along the approach, though spaces fill by late morning in high season. The beach is moderately busy, popular with families and couples, and the two tavernas serve reliable Greek food and cold drinks. A beach bar plays music at a sociable level. Despite the facilities, the pine backdrop and clear water keep the setting pleasant. There is no official Blue Flag, but cleanliness and water quality are generally good. Bring your own snorkel gear; the rocky headlands at each end offer interesting underwater sights.
