Description
Kanapitsa sits on Skiathos’s south coast, a few kilometres east of the town of Skiathos and just west of Troulos. The beach is a broad arc of soft, pale sand, lapped by moderate waves that make it pleasant for swimming without being rough. The bay is backed by low, pine-clad slopes, with a smattering of villas and hotel grounds behind. Sunbeds and umbrellas line much of the sand, and a couple of beach bars serve drinks and light meals. This is a well-organised, family-friendly spot, often busy in July and August but rarely overcrowded. You can reach it by a paved road from the main coastal road, with roadside parking that fills quickly in peak season. Facilities include basic toilets and a small supermarket within a short walk. Bring your own snorkel gear if you want to explore the rocky edges; otherwise, just a towel and sunscreen suffice. The beach faces south, catching the afternoon sun, and tends to stay calm enough for paddling children.
