Description
Limnonari sits on the southwestern coast of Skopelos, a short drive south of Glossa. It is a long arc of soft golden sand, lapped by calm, shallow water that shelves gradually – ideal for paddling and swimming. The beach is backed by a steep, pine-clad hillside, giving it a lush, sheltered feel even in the midday sun, though there is little natural shade directly on the sand. A single taverna occupies the northern end, offering food, drinks and a handful of sunbeds for hire. Access is via a paved road from Glossa, which ends at a small roadside parking area that fills quickly in high season. The beach is moderately busy in July and August but never feels overcrowded. Because the water remains placid and there are no strong currents, it suits families with young children and those who simply want to float. Snorkelling is modest; the sandy bottom offers little reef life. There are no showers or formal changing rooms, so bring your own supplies.
