Description
Tucked away on the southeastern coast of Skopelos, Trachili is a remote and undeveloped cove that rewards those willing to make the journey. The approach from the nearest village — likely Glossa or Agnondas — follows a narrow, unpaved track through pine- and olive-covered slopes, ending at a roadside spot where you can leave your car. The beach itself is a strip of mixed pebbles and coarse sand, with moderately exposed waters that are typically clear and refreshing, though a breeze and some swell are common. There are no sunbeds, umbrellas, tavernas or other facilities — this is a bare-bones escape, ideal for travellers who bring their own supplies and crave solitude. The surrounding cliffs and scrubby vegetation offer little natural shade, so a parasol and plenty of water are essential. On a summer’s day you might share the space with a handful of other independent visitors, but it never feels crowded. Snorkelling can be rewarding along the rocky edges, and the absence of music or beach bars makes it a genuinely quiet spot for reading or dozing. Trachili is not for families needing amenities, but for those who value raw nature and a sense of discovery, it is a satisfying find.
