Description
Tucked into a quiet stretch of Skopelos' eastern coastline, Vathias is a modest cove that feels a world away from the island's busier resorts. The beach itself is a narrow strip of mixed sand and pebbles, lapped by moderately active waters that invite a swim but can have a bit of a swell. Reached by a short footpath from the coastal road—parking is roadside and limited—it attracts those who prefer solitude over convenience. There are no sunbeds, umbrellas, or tavernas; you bring your own shade, water, and snacks. The surrounding scrub-covered hillsides offer some natural shelter, but the beach is mostly open to the sky. Mornings are tranquil, while afternoons may see a handful of independent travellers or locals stopping by for a quick dip. Snorkelling along the rocky edges can be rewarding, but the lack of facilities means this is strictly for self-sufficient beachgoers.
