Description
Long, south-facing strand forming the eastern end of Laganas Bay within the National Marine Park. Predominantly fine sand with occasional small pebbles and seasonal seagrass deposits; very clear, shallow water over a sandy bottom. Generally calm due to bay shelter, though onshore southerlies can bring light chop. Multiple streets from Kalamaki lead directly to the shore; access is easy on foot. Parking is mostly along nearby streets rather than a dedicated lot. Parts of the beach in front of hotels have rented sunbeds/umbrellas, while large stretches remain natural because of turtle protection. Strict rules apply: beach use only from 07:00 to sunset; keep activity close to the waterline; avoid marked nests; no lights, vehicles, or motorized watersports on the nesting zone. Families favor the gentle entry, but respect the protected status and roped areas.
