Description
Long bay on south Lefkada with a mainly pebbly shoreline and some sandy sections (more sand toward Ponti). Water is typically clear with shallow entry in places. Mornings are usually calm/light onshore; by early afternoon a strong cross-shore thermal wind develops, drawing windsurfers and creating flat to choppy conditions rather than true surf. Access is easy from the village seafront promenade, with several organized sections offering sunbeds/umbrellas, beach bars and tavernas. Watersports centers operate for windsurfing, SUP and kayak. Parking is mostly along the coastal road; a free lot exists at the Ponti end of the bay. Cautions: afternoons get busy with boards and boat activity—swimmers should stay near shore or marked zones; frequent water-taxi/boats depart from the port; wind can be strong later in the day; dedicated public toilets/showers are limited and mainly found in venues behind the beach.
