Porto Katsiki
Porto Katsiki sits below the high white cliffs of Lefkada’s west coast, with a mixed sand-and-pebble shoreline facing the open Ionian Sea. The official tourism guide describes a descent of about 100 steps from the road access above, or arrival by boat. The record lists a large parking lot and typically moderate water, but the beach remains classified as unorganised. Sunbeds, umbrellas, toilets, food and a beach bar are recorded as available amenities; season, position and operator availability can change, so they should not be treated as guaranteed throughout the shore. The cliff, turquoise water and broad seaward view create the dramatic setting for which Porto Katsiki is known. Moderate is a planning profile rather than a live safety reading: swell and wind can alter conditions, and visitors should follow local access notices around the cliff and steps.
Amenities

Egremni Beach
Egremni is a remote west-coast beach beneath Lefkada’s imposing white limestone cliffs. The shore combines sand and white shingle beside intensely blue water, but reaching it by land requires descending a staircase of roughly 400 steps from the parking area and climbing it again in exposed conditions. Boat excursions from Nidri and other ports offer an alternative when weather and operators permit. The beach is recorded as unorganised, with no confirmed on-beach amenities, so visitors should carry water, food and sun protection rather than depend on service below; a snack point may operate above the stairs. A large parking area is recorded, but capacity and charges are not live data. Moderate water conditions reflect the open Ionian exposure: swell and shore break can build, and the cliff setting also means visitors should respect local warning signs and avoid unstable rock faces.
Amenities

Kathisma Beach
Kathisma is one of Lefkada’s best-known and most popular beaches. Stretching for over 1 km along the west coast, it’s framed by hills and offers wide views of the deep turquoise Ionian Sea. The beach combines lively beach bars, organised sunbeds/umbrellas, and quieter ends where you can escape crowds. It has a cosmopolitan feel, especially in high season, but you can still find more relaxed spots toward the edges.
Amenities

Agios Ioannis Beach
Agios Ioannis, also known as Ai Giannis, lies roughly two to three kilometres from Lefkada Town beside a small village, with olive groves and low hills behind the shore. Its surface is recorded as a mix of sand and pebbles. Mornings are described as calmer, while wind can build later in the day; the verified overall water classification is moderate. The beach is organised and carries a recorded Blue Flag, with sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, toilets and a lifeguard in its amenity profile. A beach bar and water sports are also listed, matching the shore’s established kite- and windsurfing character when conditions allow. A small parking lot is the confirmed parking arrangement. For a swim-focused visit, the day’s wind remains more useful than assuming the afternoon will match the calmer morning pattern.
Amenities

Megali Petra Beach
Pebble–sand mix cove on Lefkada’s exposed west coast, named for the large shore and in-water boulders. Substrate ranges from coarse sand to fine pebbles; water is typically very clear. Open to prevailing W–NW winds, so conditions can turn wavy and the seabed deepens quickly. Access is via a narrow, steep asphalt road from Kalamitsi; final approach includes a short footpath. Parking is limited to small paid lots near the end of the road plus some roadside spots. Seasonal rental of a few umbrellas/sunbeds may be present, but there are no permanent facilities on the beach and no lifeguard. Cautions: limited/steep parking access, slippery rocks, sudden depth and strong shore break when swell is up. For food/drinks, options are at nearby Kavalikefta/Avali beaches.
Amenities

Nidri Beach
Town beach on Lefkada’s sheltered east coast, opposite the islets of Madouri and Skorpios. Shoreline is a mix of coarse sand and small pebbles with generally clear, tranquil water thanks to the protected bay; short wind-chop and wakes can occur from passing boats. Exposure is low compared with the island’s west coast, so waves are usually calm. Access is straightforward via the seafront promenade within the village; multiple paid parking areas lie a short walk behind the beach, and the waterfront is flat. Large stretches are organized by hotels and beach bars offering sunbeds and umbrellas, with unserviced spots between. Watersports operators based in Nidri (kayak, SUP, parasailing, jet ski/boat rentals) and numerous day-cruise boats depart from the nearby port. Notable cautions: frequent boat and water-sports traffic close to shore—keep clear of craft lanes; the seabed is pebbly in places, so water shoes may help
Amenities

Nikiana Beach
Small east-coast village beach on Lefkada with a mixed sand-and-pebble shore and very clear, typically calm water. The southeast exposure and shelter of the mainland/channel mean waves are usually minimal except in stronger onshore breezes. Access is easy directly off the coastal road through Nikiana; the beach sits beside the harbor/front with short walks from roadside parking. Parts of the beach are organized seasonally with sunbeds/umbrellas and a simple beach bar/cantina; otherwise it remains low-key. Entry can be pebbly—water shoes help. Depth drops gradually and the water is often used by families; visibility is good for casual snorkeling near rocks. Pedalos/SUPs are sometimes available from local operators. Space is limited, and parking can be tight in peak season. Watch for small-boat traffic near the pier and occasional mooring lines; avoid swimming close to the harbor approach.
Amenities

Pefkoulia Beach
Long west-coast beach between Tsoukalades and Agios Nikitas. Shore is a mix of coarse sand and small pebbles; water is typically very clear and gets deep quickly. Exposed to prevailing NW winds, so it can be wavy with a strong shore break on windy days; calmer in light winds. Easy drive-up access directly from the main coastal road. There is an organized section with sunbed/umbrella rentals and a beach bar/taverna above the southern/central part; large stretches remain unorganized. Parking is available in dedicated lots near the beach and along the roadside, but fills in peak season. Cautions: sudden depth, waves/swell when windy, limited natural shade away from the pines at the edges; no consistently verifiable public lifeguard or facilities beyond those of the beach bar.
Amenities

Vasiliki Beach
Long bay on south Lefkada with a mainly pebbly shoreline and some sandy sections (more sand toward Ponti). Water is typically clear with shallow entry in places. Mornings are usually calm/light onshore; by early afternoon a strong cross-shore thermal wind develops, drawing windsurfers and creating flat to choppy conditions rather than true surf. Access is easy from the village seafront promenade, with several organized sections offering sunbeds/umbrellas, beach bars and tavernas. Watersports centers operate for windsurfing, SUP and kayak. Parking is mostly along the coastal road; a free lot exists at the Ponti end of the bay. Cautions: afternoons get busy with boards and boat activity—swimmers should stay near shore or marked zones; frequent water-taxi/boats depart from the port; wind can be strong later in the day; dedicated public toilets/showers are limited and mainly found in venues behind the beach.
