Description
Sandy beach on Paros’ west coast, by the Pounta (Pounda) ferry port across the narrow channel to Antiparos. Fine sand with clear, typically shallow waters. Very wind-exposed in summer (Meltemi) with steady side-shore winds; surface can be choppy and often wavy, and the area is a major kite/windsurf spot with active schools operating on the beach. Access is easy by road; buses and the Antiparos car ferry serve the adjacent port. Large on-site parking at the port area. A small section is organized with rentable sunbeds and umbrellas; the rest is open shoreline used mostly for watersports rather than leisurely swimming. Notable cautions: frequent strong winds, heavy kitesurfing activity with launch/landing zones and right-of-way rules; stay clear of the ferry approach and marked watersports areas.
