Description
Kalafatis Beach lies on the southeastern coast of Mykonos, offering a mellow retreat away from the island’s busiest shores. The sand is predominantly fine and golden, though some areas near the water’s edge include stones or rocky patches. Past the immediate shore the seabed tends to be sandy with better footing. The water is clear and usually calm, though in breezy conditions gentle chop may develop. The beach supports both lounging and activity: sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, toilets and a beach bar are available in organized zones, and a water sports center offers windsurfing, paddleboarding and other rentals. Access is by road, and public buses connect from Mykonos Town. Parking is available along the road and in nearby lots. Because parts of the beach are less developed, swimmers should be cautious in zones without lifeguard coverage and watch for submerged rocks near the edges.
