A good Greek beach day can fall apart before you even reach the water: a narrow access road, no legal shoulder, a rental car circling in the heat, and everyone in the car already sandy somehow. This guide keeps the promise deliberately practical. Every beach below has a dedicated small or large parking lot recorded in our verified inventory, so it is a stronger bet than beaches marked as roadside-only or no-parking.
This is still Greece in summer, not a guaranteed reserved space. Popular beaches can fill early, paid lots can change by season, and a "small lot" may be tight in August. But if you are planning with children, beach gear, mobility constraints, or a rental car, these are the beaches where parking should be less stressful. On Attica, this list is intentionally stricter than "there is somewhere to leave the car." We include beaches marked with small or large parking lots, and we exclude roadside-only access because that can mean a few informal pull-offs rather than an easy arrival. If you are visiting in July or August, treat the parking type as a planning advantage, not a guarantee: go earlier for the famous beaches, and use the full Attica beach list when you want to compare parking with waves, surface type, and amenities.

Agia Marina is the longest sandy beach on Aegina’s eastern coast, stretching roughly 500 m with soft golden sand and a uniformly shallow, clear seabed. The water is typically calm, making it ideal for families and casual swimmers, though wind-driven ripples may occasionally appear.

Varkiza Beach lies along the Athenian Riviera and blends relaxed charm with full service. Much of the shore is sandy with scattered pebbles, and the seabed slopes gently, giving clear, shallow water for a good stretch.
Parking: Getting here is simple by car, tram or bus, and the large on-site parking makes it hassle-free if you drive.
Voula Beach is one of the most popular seaside escapes along the Athenian Riviera, just a short ride from the city. The coast here is sandy and welcoming, with shallow, crystal-clear water that makes it easy to wade in and safe for families with children.
Parking: Access is straightforward via Poseidonos Avenue and OASA buses, and there is an on-site free parking area.
Set on the sheltered Saronic Gulf in the suburb of Vouliagmeni, this 650-m, ticketed municipal beach is known for very clear, regularly monitored waters. The shore is predominantly sandy with easy entry. Thanks to the protective bay, seas are generally calm; light chop can occur with southerly winds.

Artemida Beach (also known as Loutsa) is a long, sandy stretch along the eastern Attica coast, combining welcoming sunbathing zones and local character. The sand is fine to medium, and the seabed slopes gently, offering safe, shallow, and clear water well out for families.
Parking: Access is convenient from Poseidonos Avenue and there is valet or managed parking associated with the beach.
Asteras (also called Asteria in Glyfada) is a stylish, compact beach along the Athens Riviera, blending elegance and relaxation. The sand is soft and golden, occasionally mingling with fine pebbles near the edge. The seabed slopes gently, giving clear, shallow water ideal for lounging or a calm swim.
Parking: Parking is available nearby, and access is via a staircase from the adjacent road.
Nestled beneath the Temple of Poseidon on the rocky promontory of Cape Sounion, this beach blends scenic drama with seaside charm. The shore is mostly sandy (with some coarser sand or pebbly patches at edges), and the water is very clear, with gentle slope in the shallow zone.
Parking: Access is by coastal road with nearby municipal parking and roadside spaces.
Marathon Beach (along the Nea Makri / Agios Panteleimonas stretch) features a long sandy shore with a gently sloping seabed and remarkably clear shallow water; the sand is typically fine and golden, though occasional rockers or coarser grains appear near edges.

Lake Vouliagmeni is a rare thermal-brackish lake framed by rocky cliffs and pine woodland, about 20 km south of Athens. Rather than a sandy beach, swimmers access the lake from decks and platforms and a short pier—there is no broad sandy shoreline.
