    Description

Preveli sits at the mouth of the Kourtaliotiko Gorge on Crete’s southern coast, where the Megalopotamos river meets the sea and forms a lagoon before flowing into the Libyan Sea. A lush palm forest (Phoenix theophrasti) lines the banks, offering a tropical oasis feel. Behind the beach, a gorge climbs up steep terrain, giving an adventurous backdrop. The sand/pebble beach is backed by greenery and the river, making for an exotic, scenic destination.
