Description

Komos is a long undeveloped sandy beach just north of Matala on the south coast of Crete, fronting an important Minoan and Greek archaeological site whose ruins lie behind the dunes. The beach is wide, the sand is fine, and the area remains a protected sea turtle (Caretta caretta) nesting site.
