    Best Snorkeling Beaches in Zakynthos

12 verified snorkeling beaches, ranked with Blue Flag certifications first.

Curated by the Beach Atlas team · Updated May 2026

Snorkeling-rated beaches in Zakynthos share a recognizable profile: clear water with good visibility, rocky reef structure or boulders near the shoreline that shelter small fish, sheltered bays where wind chop stays minimal, and either organized facilities (so you can rent a mask if you forgot one) or easy access to a protected cove. Mediterranean water is naturally clear because there's almost no plankton bloom in summer, so on a calm day you can routinely see 10–15 metres down.

Below are the snorkeling-tagged beaches we've verified in Zakynthos. Snorkeling quality varies more by wind direction than by season — even a great snorkeling beach is poor on a windy day when wave action stirs sand and silt. Check the local meltemi forecast before committing your morning. For sheltered bays where the wind matters less, see our calm-water guide for Zakynthos.
