    The Best Beaches in Paros

10 standout Paros beaches, from the granite coves of Kolymbithres to the windsurf sands of New Golden Beach — grouped by coast, with access and family notes.

Curated by the Beach Atlas team · Updated June 2026

Paros is small enough to drive in under an hour, so the right beach depends mostly on the wind and the kind of day you want. The sheltered north, inside Naoussa Bay, holds the island's signature scenery: the granite-sculpted coves of Kolymbithres and the calm, shallow cove of Monastiri inside Paros Park. The east and southeast coasts face Naxos and catch the summer Meltemi, which is exactly why beaches like New Golden Beach became wind-surf hubs, while Blue Flag Logora keeps a gentler organized stretch. The west and south coasts are the calmer side, with family bays like Aliki and the turquoise water of Faragas. Browse every verified beach on the island in Paros.

This is a curated best-of rather than the full list. A car or scooter helps for the quieter coves, but the headline organized beaches are reachable by local bus from Parikia or Naoussa, and several Naoussa Bay beaches can be reached by seasonal water taxi. Pick a coast below, then check each beach page for access and parking detail before you go — parking is tight at the popular northern beaches in peak season.

Naoussa Bay (north): the icons and the calm water

The sheltered bay around Naoussa holds some of the island's most iconic scenery. Kolymbithres is an iconic series of small sandy coves separated by smooth granite rock formations, with very clear, calm shallows and several organized sections — though parking and free space are tight in peak hours. Just across the bay, Monastiri is a sheltered cove inside Paros Park, well protected from the Meltemi, with clear shallow water for around 100 m, a beach bar and a watersports center. On the bay's northeast side, Santa Maria is a large sandy beach with views to Naxos, highly organized in sections with beach bars and a water-sports club, plus quieter free stretches at the ends. For something genuinely quiet, Lageri is a secluded dune-backed beach on the Santa Maria cape with no facilities — reached by a rough road and a short footpath, so bring your own water and shade.

East & southeast Paros: wind, surf and a Blue Flag

The east and southeast coasts face Naxos and the open Aegean, so this is the windier, sportier side of the island. New Golden Beach (locally Tserdakia) is a long, fine-sand bay with turquoise water that is exposed to the summer Meltemi, making it a noted wind- and wing-surf spot with organized sections and watersports centers. Nearby on the southeast coast, Blue Flag Logora is a gentler, partly organized golden-sand beach with shallow water and tavernas, walkable from Piso Livadi. For a quieter, more local feel further south, Glyfa is a small, serene beach of golden sand and pebbles with calm aquamarine water and natural shade from trees along the shore — a peaceful spot off the main tourist routes.

West & south Paros: the calmer, family side

When the Meltemi blows, the west and south coasts tend to stay calmer. Aliki is a charming, family-friendly beach on the southwest coast with calm, shallow water sheltered by natural features, plus traditional tavernas, a small fishing harbour and scenic sunset spots. Agia Irini — often called Palm Beach — sits in two small west-coast coves that are well sheltered from the prevailing north winds, with a beach club and tavernas and usually calm water. On the southern coast, Faragas is a picturesque sandy bay known for clear turquoise water and gentle waves, mixing free public sections with a more upscale beach-club area for those who want extra comfort.
