    Description

Orkos Beach is a chain of small sandy coves between Plaka and Mikri Vigla on Naxos’ southwest coast. The shore is predominantly fine sand with rocky outcrops separating the coves, and the water is typically very clear. The area is exposed to the Meltemi and prevailing northerlies, so conditions are often windy with chop/waves. Access is via the main road toward Mikri Vigla and a short dirt track; parking is informal along the roadside/dirt clearings. There are no permanent facilities or lifeguards and no organized sections. Caution: gusty winds, shorebreak and currents when the Meltemi blows, and rocks between coves.
