Snorkeling-rated beaches in Milos share a recognizable profile: clear water with good visibility, rocky reef structure or boulders near the shoreline that shelter small fish, sheltered bays where wind chop stays minimal, and either organized facilities (so you can rent a mask if you forgot one) or easy access to a protected cove. Mediterranean water is naturally clear because there's almost no plankton bloom in summer, so on a calm day you can routinely see 10–15 metres down.

Snorkeling quality varies more by wind direction than by season — even a great snorkeling beach is poor on a windy day when wave action stirs sand and silt. Firiplaka is a south-coast Milos beach backed by tall volcanic cliffs streaked with pale, orange and pink tones. The shore is mostly fine grey sand with some white pebbles, and the clear water stays relatively shallow near the entry before deepening.

North-facing cove near Plaka with a mixed sand–pebble shore and very clear, typically turquoise water. Semi-sheltered by low cliffs but exposed to northerlies (Meltemi), so it’s usually calm to moderate but can turn wavy when winds pick up.

Small cove on the E/SE coast of Milos near Komia. Shore is mostly pebbles with some coarse sand patches; seabed turns to rock in places. Water is typically very clear. The cove sits below steep cliffs and is relatively sheltered, but swell can wrap in with onshore winds.

Alogomandra is a beautiful, relatively secluded sandy beach on the northeastern coast of Milos, near Agios Konstantinos / between Sarakiniko and Papafragas. It features fine white/golden sand, crystal-clear emerald water, and a semi-cave carved into the cliff at one end that offers some shade and dramatic views.
